Tandoori Salmon – Yogurt and Spice flavored Salmon recipe

Give your salmon an Indian twist by marinating it in a delicious mix of chilly, lemon, yogurt and fragrant garam masala. The Tandoori Salmon is easy to prepare and imparts a great flavor to Salmon that’s sure to please everyone.

 

 

In just 15 -20 minutes, you can have a fancy fish dish on the dinner table. This Tandoori Salmon is simple enough to make on a weeknight and impressive enough to serve for a special weekend dinner.

 

All you have to do is mix together several spices with yogurt and a little oil. Then marinate the salmon in it for a while and bake. 15 minutes later, you’ll have a beautiful and flavorful flaky fish.

This spiced Tandoori Salmon will melt in your mouth. Serve this on top of a salad for a light summer meal or with some (cauliflower) rice, roasted veggies, and salad for something a little more hearty. I served it with Turmeric-Lime flavored Cauliflower rice and some mint yogurt sauce (yogurt mixed in with some mint chutney).

Ingredients
  • 4 - 8 oz Salmon fillets cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup thick Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1/2 lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • Salt as required
  • 1 Lime for serving
  • Cilantro chopped for garnish
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425F. Line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. In a blender add the garlic and ginger along with a splash of water to make a thick smooth paste. Transfer into a separate bowl and mix rest of the ingredients(expect 1 lime and cilantro). Apply the marinade to the salmon cubes, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Let it marinate for 15-20 mins to 1 hour.
  3. Arrange the salmon cubes in the baking dish and bake for about 10-12 minutes using some of the marinade to baste the fish several times. Turn on the broiler for the last 2 minutes.
  4. The fish is done when flaky.
  5. If using the grill, cook the Salmon for about 4-5 minutes per side.

  6. Squeeze some fresh lime and garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve warm.
